Next Level Trumpet Academy

Our Approach

Saeger Studios and Next Level Trumpet Academy is owned by Tim Saeger who is a native of San Diego, California. Tim performs in everything from big band jazz to classical weddings and can be seen performing with the San Diego Symphony, especially during their Summer Pops Season. Passionate about teaching the trumpet Tim also holds several trumpet coaching jobs and maintains a large private studio. Accommodating up to 60 private lessons/week plus his coaching jobs, Tim personally interacts with over 100 students each week.

What's different about Tim's Next Level trumpet Academy?

In short, playing the trumpet is not a side job for me. I am a professional trumpet musician freelancing in San Diego and regularly perform with the San Diego Symphony as an extra. As a native San Diegan I am a permanent resident and for 20 years have built a career performing and teaching trumpet. My students regularly are accepted to All State and Southern California Honor Bands and awarded college scholarships (regardless of their chosen major). I am one of the most represented trumpet teachers in the California State Honor bands. My student retention rate is nearly 100% with most of my students studying from me for 4-7 years before college.

My Commitment To You:

Teaching is a passion that I will continue to pursue for the rest of my life. I am committed to providing you with the best quality trumpet lessons. I believe the lessons we learn from trumpet translate to success in everyday life. I believe in developing successful habits and learning how to reach our goals through a discipline in music. At the very least I hope that my students find joy through music and learn habits for a successful future.I am excited to work with you in your musical journey.

In the Press

New Record

SaegerStudios has achieved a new milestone with 22 acceptances into the All State California and All Southern California Honor Band. I am incredibly proud of all the students who dedicated themselves to auditioning this year. I think it’s safe to say that SaegerStudios may be the most represented trumpet studio in the entire state of California.

Scheduling

I schedule all my lessons using an online booking system. Students/Parents have an account on my website. I schedule their weekly lessons based on their preferences and availability. Students/Parents can then cancel, reschedule, and book more lessons as they see fit. When a student cancels, it opens that time slot for another student. All scheduling, rescheduling, cancellations, are all done online. Easy!

How to try a lesson for free - As mentioned above, I use an online scheduling system to schedule my students. If you're a first time student and want to try me for free, create a free account, view my availability online and schedule the lesson. Easy! Just pay attention to the location details for each lesson. Watch this 3 minute video showing you how easy it is! https://youtu.be/q-scZqGR7Q4?si=rac9DXZ6ICHukDZD

Summer Lessons

As we approach the summer season, please be mindful of the unique scheduling arrangements that apply during this period. Unlike the regular school year schedule, you will have the flexibility to create your own schedule for summer lessons, with all available time slots visible online. The reduced time constraints during summer allow for greater versatility in scheduling, with additional morning and early afternoon slots becoming available due to my increased availability.

Student College and Career

This year, I am particularly proud of many of my seniors who have decided to pursue music majors and careers in music. I encourage all students and parents to reach out to me so that I can provide guidance on higher education in music and potential career pathways. There is a wealth of information to be shared, and it can be challenging to acquire without the guidance of someone engaged in the field.

My Career

The past year has been a career highlight for me, marked by several firsts and milestones. Earlier this year I was a finalist for two highly sought-after positions with military premier bands, the Air Force's Airmen Of Note in Washington DC and the Academy Band in Colorado. Furthermore, I have had the privilege of regularly performing with the San Diego Symphony as assistant principal during their pops season and as an extra during their Masterworks Concerts. This remarkable journey culminated in a concert at Carnegie Hall in New York with the San Diego Symphony, which was a tremendous honor and a personal bucket list achievement.

Thank You!

I would like to express my gratitude to each and every one of you for an incredible year. I am truly passionate about what I do, and I hope that this is evident in our lessons. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to teach and share my passion for music with all of you. Your dedication to learning the trumpet has been inspiring, and I am committed to continually improving and delivering the best lessons possible. I am especially grateful to the parents for their unwavering support and belief in the power of music education. Thank you all for joining me on this journey.
